Export Restrictions from the Advantidge Legal Department
In connection with the unrest in Libya and effective immediately, the United States has implemented economic sanctions against the government of Libya, as well as senior members of the Libyan government and specifically named members of the Qadhafi family. In addition to freezing their economic assets and property, the sanctions broadly prohibit US companies and individuals from providing goods or services (in our case ID card printing products) directly or indirectly to the government of Libya, its senior members and members of the Qadhafi family. For purposes of these sanctions, the government of Libya also includes state-owned enterprises.
As a U.S. distributor of ID card printing products, Advantidge’s products are subject to U.S. export control laws and export sanctions. Advantidge and our partners (the manufacturers’ of these products) are obligated to comply with these restrictions. Accordingly, until these sanctions are lifted, it is prohibited for Advantidge to re-export any ID card products (or provide any services related to ID card printing products) to the government of Libya, senior members of the Libyan government or members of the Qadhafi family, or companies owned or controlled by any of the foregoing.
As a reminder, United States export restrictions also include the prohibition against exporting products to Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan and Syria, and accordingly, Advantidge does not re-export ID products or ID card systems to these countries. Any ID card products sold or re-exported in violation of these restrictions are not be covered by product warranty.
Thank you for your attention in this important matter.
