The industry standard size plastic ID cards that are used for printing ID cards on every ID card printer is CR80/30 credit card sized. These plastic cards have a high polish finish, with a graphics quality, vision inspected rating, and are shrink wrapped in a box of 500 to keep them clean for your use. Once a package has been opened always handle blank ID cards with care, as dust and debris can be carried by ID cards into an ID card printer, causing irreparable damage to the printhead.

Magnetic Stripe ID Cards

ID cards can be used simply for visual verification, or for advanced security consider using magstripe ID cards with High-Coercivity or Low-Coercivity magnetic stripes encoding personal cardholder information. With magnetic stripe ID cards you can encode secure data into your plastic cards that is read when cards are swiped through a magstripe card reader.

HICO cards have a denser magnetic layer and are much less susceptible to stray field erasures from magnets, making them a more reliable solution than LOCO magnetic stripe ID cards. Virtually all bank cards and government ID cards today are encoded on high-coercivity magnetic striped ID cards.

UltraCard Premium ID Cards

HID Global Fargo’s UltraCard Premium Poly-PVC composite ID cards are the preferred plastic card for High-Definition ID Card Printing. These cards are extremely durable with a clean, glossy dye receptive surface and Ultracard Premium ID cards do not fluoresce, making them the ideal ID cards for fluorescent panel printing applications. HID Global Fargo UltraCard Premium cards can be used with any ID card printer on the market.
