PockeTracker Provides High Security at The Oscars

Jupiter, FL – March 8, 2009:

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences successfully deployed PockeTracker from Vision Database Systems at their annual Academy Awards event held Sunday, February 22, in Hollywood, and Advantidge has provided similar applications for other clients in the entertainment industry of Los Angeles and Hollywood as well!

PockeTracker is a handheld device with exclusive software and ID card reader, which allows immediate authentication of any secure credential. Among its numerous functions PockeTracker can allow the immediate on-the-spot check of any cardholder and can authenticate the individual’s information to match the rightful cardholder. It has a simple red or green display for granting or denying entry.

PockeTracker was chosen by the Academy for three reasons: its ability to read a highly secure credential, fast and accurate integration with the existing access control system, and its mobility to create checkpoints. Security staff members were trained within minutes on the use of the PockeTracker.

“We are extremely grateful to Vision Database Systems for sending their team out and we were impressed with their unique ability to interface with our system. We look forward to utilizing this technology in the future to secure areas within areas,” stated Ric Robertson, Executive Administrator of the Academy. Vision Database Systems plans to use its expertise to work closely with Academy credential and security personnel.  ”Although we have deployed our PockeTrackers for less secure venues like college football games, construction site worker access, or for VIP access at the Staples Center, we are gratified that our product worked so well for a highly secure venue like the Oscars to solve that last .1% exposure that keeps security managers concerned” declared Emil Bonaduce, President of Vision Database Systems.

Because of PockeTracker’s easy integration with existing card systems it is quickly becoming the top choice for secure people tracking. In addition to access control it can track simple attendance or be used for paperless ticketing. It contains a mustering feature which allows the user to quickly identify who is or isn’t in a building, a bus, or any other location. It can also tally points for loyalty apps. The program can be configured to provide proper security and tracking to a wide array of markets and fits perfectly for the needs of the event management community from small events to large secure events such as the Oscars.
