HID Global Fargo Product News Update October 2011

Fargo has changed the DTC Fargo ID card printer ribbon compatibility matrix as the advanced DTC ID card printers that HID Global launched in September 2010 have been designed to provide unparalleled direct-to-card print performance and reliability in a new, flexible and modern platform.

New DTC printer ribbon consumables are designed with the intent to provide compatibility with legacy DTC printers (FARGO® DTC400e and Persona C30e /M30e).

Approaching 2012, the HID design team will be graduating to a new print ribbon standard for Fargo DTC1000 and DTC4000 ID card printers. The new print ribbon standard will accommodate future product enhancements in DTC1000 and DTC4000 ID card printers, and therefore will no longer be compatible with legacy Fargo DTC ID Card printers.

HID will seamlessly graduate FARGO DTC1000 and DTC4000 print ribbons to the new standard in the month of November 2011, with no part number, price, firmware, or performance changes. Customers using Legacy Fargo ID card printers should return to using and ordering legacy print ribbons/part numbers, as they did prior to September 2010.
