HID Global Launches New FARGO® Photo ID Systems

HID Global has launched its new Photo ID Systems based on their advanced line of direct-to-card ID card printers /encoders. Available immediately, the new pre-configured photo ID systems offer a complete out-of-the-box ID card personalization solution and include:

  • HID Global Fargo DTC ID Card Printer/Encoder for easy, reliable and secure card printing/encoding.
  • Workbench™, a software toolkit for set up, printer diagnostics and firmware upgrades.
  • Asure ID® card personalization software for intuitive ID card design, print and data record management.
  • High-end USB Digital web ID camera capturing cardholder photos quickly and easily.
  • USB cable for connecting the HID Global FARGO DTC printer/encoder to your computer.
  • UltraCard™ PVC plastic cards, so designing and producing ID cards can be started right away. Includes 100 cards (DTC1000) or 300 cards (DTC4000 and DTC4500).
  • Full-color ID printer ribbon/ribbon cartridge for printing 250 images (500 images with the DTC4500).

    The HID Global Fargo DTC1000 Card Printer/Encoder offers a reliable performance and virtually maintenance-free system for single-sided, edge-to-edge ID card printing with full-color, continuous-tone printing at 300 dpi (11.8 dots/mm).

    The HID Global Fargo DTC4000 Photo ID System produces durable ID cards with its enhanced full-color printing. Designed to adapt to evolving needs, the DTC4000 Photo ID System is highly scalable when an organization’s requirements grow and offers single-sided, edge-to-edge ID card printing with full-color, continuous-tone printing at 300 dpi (11.8 dots/mm). The DTC4000’s intuitive SmartScreen™ graphical display provides easy-to-follow prompts to be sure you’ll always know the status of the printer. The printer/encoder can be field-upgraded to dual-sided printing and smart card, proximity and magnetic stripe encoding.

    The HID Global Fargo DTC4500 Photo ID System produces durable and colorful ID cards with speed and versatility rolled into one, making it an ideal choice when organizations require higher volume, robust ID card printing every day. The Fargo DTC4500 Card Printer/Encoder included offers single-sided printing on CR 79 and CR-80 cards with full-color, continuous-tone printing at 300 dpi (11.8 dots/mm). The DTC4500 includes USB and Ethernet connectivity and can be field-upgraded for lamination, dual-sided printing, and smart card, proximity and magnetic stripe encoding.

    New Contact Smart Card Product Configurations Now Available

    HID’s new contact smart card product configurations are now shipping for advanced generation Fargo Direct-to-Card ID printer/encoders.

    The configurations for tHID Global’s Fargo DTC1000, DTC4000 and DTC4500 ID printer/encoders are factory configurable for all products and for customers who have already purchased DTC4000 and DTC4500 ID card printers, these products can be upgraded with the new module by simply sending them in.

    New UltraCard™ Premium Blank White and HICO Magnetic Stripe ID Cards

    The affordable and extremely durable UltraCard Premium Blank White card is a non-technology ID card that can be used with any ID card printer on the market. It is also the card of choice for the HID Global Fargo HDP5000 as well as Direct-to-Card (DTC) applications that require a higher quality ID card.

    Its composite material construction provides for maximum durability, flexibility and card life with optimal resolution print quality for re-transfer printing, lamination and fluorescent panel ribbon printing applications.

    Discontinuation of SmartShield Line of UltraCard III Cards

    HID’s Smartshield line of UltraCard III ID cards are being discontinued and replaced with the UltraCard™ Premium ID card which does not fluoresce, and which provides superior card durability at a lower price.
